SICK has released a series of reed switches suitable for protecting mechanical guards on machines and plants.
The RE series are suited for hoods, doors or flaps. According to the manufacturer, the switches are reliable and are not affected by vibrations, imprecise mounting, or harsh environments.
The magnetic safety switches can be used as part of protection systems for packaging machines, panel separators, printing and pre-assembly machines.
The company claims the switches reliably monitor protective components, because they master tolerances in door mountings and machine openings, are immune to harsh operating conditions, and are friction- and maintenance-free.
