ENWARE has released a portable gravity-fed eyewash with 15 minutes of flow to prevent permanent injury to eyes exposed to hazardous substances.
According to the company, the 34L capacity HAWS7501 unit is suited for emergency quick response at remote locations. It is made of high-density polyethylene finished in safety green and orange for quick location, and has a re-engineered filler inlet said to optimise servicing and refilling.
In accidents where hazardous chemicals and substances come into contact with the eyes, first aid usually involves copious irrigation of the eyes within ten seconds. When the operator folds down the orange arm on the unit, the water flow is activated.
The HAWS9082 bacteriorstatic preservative can be used with the unit to allow water to be stored in the tank for up to six months. A wall-mounting bracket allows the portable eyewash to be placed for quick access.
The manufacturer claims the new unit is part of a range of emergency shower and wash-up equipment suited for industrial and commercial applications where workers could be exposed to hazardous chemicals and other injurious substances.
