THE CANCER Council Australia says it has launched a national online training course designed to educate outdoor workers on the risks of sun exposure.
An estimated 1.2m Australians work outdoors, and face an increased risk of skin cancer from exposure to UV radiation.
The ‘Working safely in the sun’ online course is part of the SunSmart Program from the CCA. According to the course designers, it was developed in partnership with online training company iCourses.
The online training course will provide employers with a flexible training option to ensure outdoor workers and health and safety processions learn about the hazards of sun exposure in the workplace.
