WORKSAFE Victoria has announced the finalists for the WorkSafe Awards, recognising the safety contributions of individual and organisations.
The winners of the 2009 WorkSafe Awards will be announced at a gala dinner on 29 October 2009 at Crown Palladium.
The WorkSafe Awards are in their 21st year, and will be a highlight feature of Work Safe Week which runs from 26 to 30 October 2009.
According to WorkSafe Victoria, all entrants should be congratulated on their work in protecting workmates, businesses and the wide community from preventable workplace incidents.
The awards also recognise that the ideas put in to effect in one area can often be applied elsewhere, allowing flexible solutions to issues which can be improved over time.
Categories in the awards include Health and Safety Representative of the Year, Health and Safety Committee of the Year, Best Design for Workplace Safety, Best Strategy for Health and Safety Management, Best Solution to preventing Musculoskeletal Injuries, and Best Solution to a Health & Safety Risk.
