THE WORK Safety Commissioner has detailed the progress on WorkSafe ACT.
WorkSafe ACT will replace both Workcover and the Office of the Work Safety Commissioner. It will sit within the Office of Regulatory Services.
WorkSafe ACT’s new logo and associated branding is being developed, and work is also progressing on the development of a new website to replace the current Workcover and ACT Work Safety Commissioner’s sites.
The Work Safety Commissioner is now the Senior Director of WorkSafe WA. He has been talking to a range of stakeholders about their views regarding the new unit.
Work has also commenced on a gap analysis of guidance and support material available to duty holders within the ACT.
WorkSafe ACT has also posted job ads for several vacant Work Safety Inspector positions. These can be found online at http://www.jobs.act.gov.au/jobs_by_agency/justice_and_community_safety.
An ad will also be placed for a new Senior Manager, Compliance, within WorkSafe ACT. The primary role of this position will be as manager of the WorkSafe ACT health and safety compliance team.
