COMOPS has released results of a survey it undertook, claiming occupational health and safety and risk managers will face a range of issues in 2010.

The survey involved more than 170 OHS and risk managers, CEOs and senior business managers. It was conducted at the Safety In Action conference which was held in Melbourne from 20 to 22 April 2010.

The surveyed face legislative changes and ongoing regulatory requirements, as well as business demands and technology. 78% cited fatigue management as a priority, followed by OHS national harmonisation laws at 77%, and meeting current laws and obligations at 76%.

According to ComOps, the survey found most OHS professionals placed great importance on proactive risk management and the need for consistent, meaningful reporting to support business decision making.

80% of respondents suggested mobility tools such as PDAs to facilitate off-site audits, safety and risk management would be of medium to critical importance during 2010.
