Safe Work Australia releases notes from strategic planning workshop

SAFE Work Australia members took part in a full-day strategic planning workshop on 18 February 2010.

The strategic planning workshop, led by Dr Keith Suter, brought members together to discuss key themes, priorities and challenges for Safe Work Australia over the next three years.

According to Safe Work Australia, the group agreed on broad themes to underpin its strategic plan 2010-2013. These themes will go to the Workplace Relations Ministers' Council (WRMC) for endorsement.

During the workshop Safe Work Australia noted the progress in finalising the Model Work Health and Safety Act as well as making amendments to improve and clarify the operation of the provisions.

Safe Work Australia claims members also agreed to begin the process to declare the National Code of Practice for the Prevention of Falls in Housing Construction.

The next Safe Work Australia meeting will be held on 29 April 2010 following the 5th Annual Safe Work Australia Awards.
