Holcim was won the Overall Award for Health and Safety Innovation at the CCAA Queensland Environment, Health and Safety Awards for its Safestart initiative.
The awards showcase and recognise best practice in environment, health and safety in cement, premixed concrete and extractive industries in Queensland.
The Safestart initiative addressed unintentional and habitual at-risk behaviour at its Brisbane and Gold Coast operations.
The initiative is reportedly credited with a 33 per cent reduction in the Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TFIRF).
