Reversing forklift crushes worker’s leg

A forklift operator accidentally reversed over a fellow worker’s leg in a Sunshine West factory late last year.

A 63-year-old Mill Park man was checking goods in pallets on the factory floor around 11:50am on Monday 5 December at a factory in Strezlecki Ave, about 15 km west of Melbourne.

Paramedics were called to the scene after a forklift operator accidentally reversed over the man, crushing his right leg. The man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

WorkSafe is investigating the incident.
