THE ORGANISERS of the 2009 Queensland Safety Show say highlights of the event included award winners from the ABC’s New Inventors.
The third Queensland Safety Show recorded 4720 visits, mostly from the manufacturing, construction, government and services sectors.
The Queensland Safety Show included the Drum Grab drum handling device and the scaffolder’s HeightGuard.
The HeightGuard was unveiled to Queensland’s construction industry for the first time at the show. HeightGuard is a fall protection solution consisting of a triangular frame which users hook onto the closest rail to provide a freestanding handrail on the new level above them.
Visitors to the co-located Queensland Materials Handling show tested the Drum Grab. The three-armed Drum Grab fits most steel and all plastic 205L drums and can lift a drum from its side into the vertical position or from a cluster of others without disturbing them.
Organisers say visitors also flocked to the stand of Fire Safety Advisor, an exhibitor in the show’s fire safety feature area. The stand received more than 100 leads and managed to close a number of substantial sales and service contracts just two days after the show.
