PRO-VISUAL Publishing says it is distributing its Construction Industry Guide to Site Safety free of charge to Queensland’s builders and construction workers.
According to Pro-Visual Publishing says the safety guide looks at the key results of a survey which found builders and construction workers in Queensland have poorer levels of health than their counterparts in other industries.
The guide also addresses the link between physical health and mental health, with findings that workers in the construction industry are 39% more likely to die by suicide when compared with the Australian working age male population as a whole.
The Master Builders Association of Queensland has lauded the guide for its practical tips on staying safe, as well as presenting current industry legislation updates in an easy-to-understand format.
The Guide provides information on the key changes in the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations 2008. This includes the stricter licensing requirements for people operating earthmoving equipment and certain types of cranes, and a new scaffolding code.
