MOORE Industries has released a new whitepaper titled Safety Instrumented Systems: The Logic of Single Loop Logic Solvers, which examines the new generation of safety-certified Single Loop Logic Solvers.
The company says the digital interactive whitepaper shows what the new generation of safety-certified single loop logic solvers can achieve, especially regarding IEC 61508, the standard for ‘Functional Safety of Electrical/Electronic/Programmable Electronic Safety-Related Systems’ developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
The whitepaper offers a brief tutorial of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and their related Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF). It also has background information and detailed tutorials on more complex topics including, IEC 61508 provision guidelines; FMEDA reports; logic solvers as safety trip alarms; and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) variations and requirements.
Moore Industries says the whitepaper contains pop-up ‘selection hints’ which link to data sheets and to helpful areas on its website.
