MeshGuard wireless gas detection system installed in Australian methane gas facility

RAE Systems’ MeshGuard wireless gas detection system has been selected for use in an Australian methane gas production facility.

According to RAE Systems, the wireless MeshGuard will replace traditional fixed wired gas monitors in methane gas production.

The company claims the older solution demanded the cables be trenched to maintain intrinsic safety. The MeshGuard system is said to eliminate that deployment step and accelerate time to production.

RAE Systems says the MeshGuard system in this instance consists of four lower-explosive-limit monitors to detect flammable gas leaks along with extended-run-time RAE PowerPaks, two hydrogen sulphide monitors and an FMC 2000 controller.

MeshGuard is a wireless, single gas monitoring system which can be configured to detect carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, Lower Explosive Limit/ Flammability and sulphur dioxide.
