Man loses finger in forklift accident

A man has severed a finger in an industrial accident at Bennetts Green, south of Newcastle in NSW.

Paramedics were called to the Central Street scene about 10.24am yesterday after a finger on the 37-year-old man’s right hand was amputated, said a spokesperson from Ambulance NSW.

An incident involving a forklift is believed to be the cause of the injury.

The man is reported to be in a stable condition at John Hunter Hospital.
