Industrial manslaughter laws shot down

BOTH the Government and the Federal Opposition have voted against the Greens’ industrial manslaughter motion in the Senate.

Greens Senator Bob Brown had moved for strong national industrial manslaughter laws, in response to Opposition Leader Tony Abbott’s comments regarding industrial manslaughter.

However, both parties voted against the motion.

The CFMEU claims the votes show earlier comments regarding industrial manslaughter amount to little more than political posturing.
