The Minister for Workplace Relations, David O’Byrne, announced today the Government had opposed the Liberal Opposition’s Right to Work Without Hinderance amendment Bill, because it’s deeply flawed on policy and process grounds.
O’Byrne stated the Liberals’ proposed legislation is an incompetent sham, littered with drafting errors from start to finish, and prepared with inadequate consultation.
“The Liberals amendment Bill is just a sloppy, incompetent, impractical piece of political grandstanding,” O’Byrne said.
“They’re simply trying to pre-empt legislation the Government is already developing to address these issues. And they’ve done it incredibly poorly,” he said.
