MACKAY-based Mining Logic Solutions will partner with CSIRO Exploration and Mining to commercially develop the Nexsys real-time risk management system for mines.
According to CSIRO, the Nexsys real-time risk management system allows underground coal mines to link a variety of sensors and systems throughout the mine, gathering information from the normally disparate systems.
Nexsys then analyses the integrated data, providing real-time risk management and decision support for control room operators. If it discovers a hazardous condition, the system will automatically trigger response plans.
The Nexsys real-time risk management system was developed by CSIRO Exploration and Mining with the support of the Australian Coal Association Research Program (ACARP) and the Japan Coal Energy Centre (JCOAL).
The partnership with Mining Logic Solutions will help ensure the new safety tool is made available to the industry as soon as possible, with an expected result within 12 months.
