Capital Safety launches new Wind Energy Protection Solutions range

CAPITAL Safety Australia has launched its Wind Energy Fall Protection Solutions Range, featuring ExoFit XP Wind Energy Harness and Force2 Wind Energy Rescue Lanyard.

Capital Safety says the new range is suitable for workers installing or performing maintenance on wind turbines who find themselves pressed up against the opposite side of the turbine or lean back against if for relief.

According to the company, this repetitive motion causes undue stress on critical elements of the harness causing them to wear out.

Capital Safety says the ExoFit XP Wind Energy Harness has a replaceable dorsal webbing protector and lumber shell to prevent wear. It also features extra built-in tool loops, providing more convenient places to hang equipment.

It has quick-connect buckles, a front D-ring for ladder climbing or rescue, side D-rings for positioning and a dorsal D-ring for fall arrest.

The Force2 Wind Energy Rescue Lanyard incorporates specialised components suitable for wind turbine construction and maintenance.

Capital Safety says the lanyard has rescue D-rings which provide an accessible connection point to retrieve a worker who has fallen. Other features include large scaffold hooks, shock pack cover to mitigate abrasion and integral wear sleaves on each lanyard tail.

Each Force2 lanyard is rated to 160kg and each hook is rated to 16kN providing added security by removing the risk of forced roll-out caused by excessive gate loading.
